Wood is recruiting for a Desalination Plant Operator with extensive experience in the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry for work on a client's site at Bacton
Purpose / Role
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Ensure Safe and Stable Production by performing Pro-Active Equipment Monitoring tasks (Surveillance) and active interventions to realise Bacton Desalination targets.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions. Report equipment failures and faults via SAP Z1 form
- Support Hazops (Hazard and Operability Study) and Plant improvement initiatives specific to Desalination plant
- Utilise, review and update relevant Desalination Plant procedures
- Receive formal handover from off-going shift operator
- Site Orientation activities in conjunction with Operations shift team and shift team handover
- Interact with maintenance to prove equipment isolations and for reinstatement
- Interpretation of Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure plant is running within Operational limits
- Plant readings and visual checks
- Sampling and analysis
- Flushing activities, including manually cleaning centrifuges, pumps, separators and level instrumentation
- Removal of contaminants from Mono Ethylene Glycol and Brine loops by draining to sump
- Pumping liquid from salt skip and desal drains
- Report equipment failures and faults via SAP
- Manual interventions on plant such as Top up of seal barrier fluid systems, nitrogen pressure systems
- Manual level control of sumps and pits by road tanker
- Completion of routine workorders including check safety valve operation, grease/oil equipment/valves, agitator checks, pump performance checks including deadhead checks
- Active involvement in Desalination progress meetings with relevant stakeholders
- Changeout salt and/or filter cake skips, rake skips when needed
Interfaces:
The Desal Operator will form an integral part of an Operational shift team working a 5 week shift cycle, covering 7 x 12hr nightshifts with 7 shifts rest followed by 7 x 12hr dayshifts followed by 14 days rest. Leave is built into the schedule however there is a requirement to provide sickness and absence cover on a rotation therefore every 2nd week of your dayshift rest you are expected to be on call.
- The Desalination Operator is an integral member of the Operations shift team, working the same work pattern
- The Desalination Operator has key interfaces on day-day with the process engineer and is expected to build a strong working relationship in this area.
- The Desalination Operator has further interfaces with the (Snr) Operations Supervisors, PLT’s, Operation Teams, team and the Reliability Engineer.
- Other interfaces are with the Maintenance, Projects and Turnarounds to provide frontline guidance on plant operations in order to make production improvement modifications
Skills / Qualifications:
Skills/ Competence Requirements:
- Hydrocarbons Level 2 (minimum) level 3 preferred. This is not essential as a pre requisite and full training will be given
- Forklift truck driver license
- Road Tanker loading/ unloading competence
- Pvision Permit to Work Requestor
- Pvision Permit to Work Isolator
- SAP Maintenance User
