Due to rapid growth, we are now recruiting for a Medical Receptionist / Sales Representative to join our friendly and dedicated team in Northampton.
Job Summary
Reception Responsibilities
- The Receptionist will always adhere to the practice’s agreed protocols and procedures, will contribute to updating them as required and will protect patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reception staff will answer the various incoming outside lines into reception and also the internal lines.
- Provide future/on-the-day appointments/telephone advice/ Video consultation slots
- Registering new patients using UC365’s booking system or amend existing patients details in line with practice policy.
- Record patient information accurately and pass it on to appropriate team member for advice
- Answer patient enquiries.
- Record and pass on messages accurately.
- Meet & greet patients when they arrive in the practice and ensure that they are assisted appropriately
- Process payments for all services provided by the practice in line with company policy.
- Provide future/on-the-day appointments in accordance with the practice’s Access Protocol.
- Assist patients to check in for their appointments.
- Process requests for repeat and acute prescriptions.
- Pass out prescriptions for collection and answer associated queries.
- Advise walk-in patients about how to access the service according to patients need.
- Communicate effectively, promptly and courteously with patients, carers, relatives and colleagues.
- Receive samples from patients in a safe manner using practice protocols and guidelines to minimize cross infection.
- Assist with cleaning up spillages using PPE as appropriate
- Assist with unlocking and locking the practice and ensure adherence to security procedures.
- Uphold excellent medical record management including the input, amendment and storage of data.
- Provide printed appointments list for each surgery as a backup if the system is unavailable.
- Scanning duties for example patient medical history, NHS clinical notes, vaccination records
- Process prescription requests
- Be committed to undertaking mandatory training sessions and be able to demonstrate knowledge as and when required.
- To contribute and attend regular in-house meetings both general and clinical as and when required
- Facilitate new pathways for the development of the Medical Reception and Sales service including relevant policies.
- Cashing up and End of day reports
Sales Responsibilities
- Fully understand each of Urgent Care 365’s products and services ensuring prospect patients receive relevant and complete information to make an informed decision about their care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Adopt a proactive approach towards the enquiries process from initial enquiry through to conversion.
- Maintain and enhance the new patient on-boarding and enquiries process
- Manage and update the new enquiries tracker, making follow up calls or emails as and when required in a timely manner.
- Support our practice in increasing patient demand and to reach quality targets
- Assist the practice manager and team with social media content and performance
