Berkshire Healthcare are seeking an organised, passionate, and motivated person for a Band 4 Technical Instructor role in the West Berkshire Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Outpatient team. We are ideally looking for someone who has experience working within a physiotherapy team and is looking for career progression. We can provide in-house training to enable the right individual to continue to develop.
The successful candidate will need to have good communications skills, be organized and flexible and be able to demonstrate their ability to work on their own as well as in collaboration with others. They will assist in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service, including reception and data inputting duties as required.
After training and achieving an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge of specific conditions and physiotherapy interventions, you will be expected to carry out independent treatment procedures and exercise programmes. You will also be responsible for the operational management of the department’s out-patient exercise groups and undertaking specific classes where appropriate. You will receive support with the above tasks from your clinical supervisor and the wider physiotherapy team.
You will work together with your line manager and colleagues to ensure that the activities of this post make a real difference to our patients.
Interviews to be held 19th June 2023
- To assist the physiotherapists in the delivery of group exercise programmes.
- To provide a high quality, effective service by performing specific clinical tasks delegated to them by physiotherapist(s) in the outpatient service.
- To carry own caseload of patients with simple conditions, as delegated by the physiotherapist.
- To manage clinical pathway patients independently
- To conduct relevant audits to maintain the safety of the service
- To ensure stock and equipment levels are maintained and re-ordered on a regular basis and that equipment is well maintained and clean in line with infection control guidelines.
- To assist in the administrative duties of the physiotherapy service, including reception duties, data inputting, photocopying, assisting with audits and completing patient records
- On occasion the post will involve travelling to sites within the district. Some flexibility with hours will be required, as some classes will be run in the early mornings and evenings
